There are several popular beauty box subscriptions website/services; Ipsy, GlossyBox, Birch Box are just a few. However the general concept of most boxes work the same.

Here is how a beauty box monthly subscription works:

You go to a company's website to sign up for the monthly subscription box service, like www.glossybox.com , click join or sign up.
You complete a general info section. Then comes the Survey about yourself and your particular "Beauty Style". The more in depth the survey(s), the better the products that'll match your style and the more useful they will be to you.
You pay a set monthly fee. You can even get a discount if you pay for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months at a time.
In 2 to 3 weeks time (depending on when you first sign up) you will then receive anywhere from 5 to 7 full sized or sample beauty products on your doorstep each month usually delivered in adorable packaging.

1. Save Money on Beauty Products

I know it seems too good to be true. How can spending money on a beauty box save you money? This is definitely the Accountant in me talking...

How many times do you go in to (or online to) Sephora, Amazon.com, Ulta Beauty, or Sally's Beauty with the intent to just browse, but you always come out (or check out) with nearly $100.00 in items you just have been dieing to try? I Browse Buying products every other weekend. However, now with my GlossyBox, I get an amazing array of beauty products to try out and test each month for a set amount of money. It is literally in my budget!

I'll play devil's advocate, let's say you don't like something you received in your GlossyBox, no big deal likely you spent less than $5.00 on it and you can always adjust your profile survey to ensure you don't get that type of product again. We've all spent way more than $5.00 on a product we've used only once and in those cases please donate those lightly used discarded products to the Powerful & Pampered Drive.

Beauty Box companies make joining their subscription program very easy. Some boxes or bags are so popular that there's a bit of a wait, however for the most part in just a few clicks online, your box is on its way. The most time consuming portion is the survey.

The Survey is there to guarantee you have the best possible experience, make sure you take your time and complete it thoroughly. Your survey is how you tell the company what kind of products you would like to have. The survey takes in to account your lifestyle, age, skin type and skin tone, as well as things you just generally like.

What I love about GlossyBox is they have a series of smaller surveys that are emailed periodically. It ensures that you are always getting the products you can use. Also, let's face it, we want changes often. You can always update your profile to reflect your current interests.
