Let’s get down and dirty... I have recently started working out consistently and especially because I have acne prone skin I have to be extra careful to clean my skin after working out. When cleaning your face to stimulate blood flow it is best to wash your face gently with your hands, however, in cases when you need to de-grime your face after sweating profusely all over you need more than just a nice massaging pat on the face to knot off the stank. So I went on a hunt for a facial cleaning assistant. I found two! I will list the benefits and there is a nice How To video so you can see them in action. AcneFree Avdanced Cleaning BrushThe first item is the Acne Free Advanced Cleansing Brush. I got it at Wal-Mart in Murphysboro, IL for $23.97. It included an Acne cleanser as well, however, I use Mary Kay Clear Proof Acne Set to control my issues, so I didn’t actually need the cleanser. However still for $23.97 I felt the brush was still a very good buy as the Mary Kay comparable brush goes for $50.00 and other higher end brand brushes cost between $60.00 and $120.00. So just to try it out, for sure, this gal was good with donating the AnceFree Cleanser to the local Women’s shelter. Description: In the box there is the cleanser, the brush, two brush heads and batteries! I was thrilled it came with batteries. I won’t be thrilled when it is time to replace them. The brush bristles are a bit stiff, but still soft to the fingertips. There are two speeds that the brushes will rotate, which is nice because other parts of your body my require a deeper scrub. Oh, yeah..You can use this brush on other parts of your body, such as back and chest. It is recommended that those with sensitive skin only use it 2-3 times a week. That worked out for me because I really only wanted to use it after my gym visits, which are the same frequency. How to Use- Be sure to put wet your face, not just the brush and put your cleanser on your face first. Do not apply too much pressure, let the brush do the work. Being too abrasive can cause peeling skin. Avoid the under eye area and are around the mouth. How to clean- Cleaning is a bit of a challenge, but I swirl the brush head in my hand with a mild soap. Then rinse out the bristles until they are white again. Sometime I have to bend and press my thumb into the bristles to get deep dirt that is at the base of the brush head to come out. Lil' ScrubbiesMy second find is the Lil’ Scrubbies. Description: Two silicone hand held face scrubbers for $3.01 at the Carbondale Wal-Mart. I really like this product!! And, one more cool thing, the Lil’ Scurbbies have suction cups on the backs of them so you can stick them on the mirror and remind yourself to use it or remember where you put it. Tips for Use -It is very simply to use, put your choice of cleanser on your face with wet hands. Hold the product between your fingers, using upward circular motions rub your face. The Silicone bristles gently scrub your face and breakdown dirt. It is also gentle enough to use on your eyes and twice daily. When done, simply rinse your face and pat it dry. Most times after using it I can see the particles of makeup and dirt collected in the tiny teeth of the tool, kinda gross, but very cool. I like to know it is actually working. To clean the Lil’ Scrubbies, use a mild soap with water and pat it dry. Did The Acne Free Advanced Brush or the Lil’ Scrubbies Cleanse Better? Check out the Results in the Video link below. As seen in the results of my comparison video. The Ance Free Advanced Cleaning Brush does leave less dirt on my face, that the Lil’ Scrubbies. The Top photo is the Remains from the Lil' Scrubbies and the bottom is the residue left behind by the Cleansing brush However, I would not be able to use the Ance Free Advanced Cleaning Brush every day. I currently use the Lil’ Scrubbies everyday (Day and Night). I use the Acne Free Advanced Brush only after working out. All in All these products are both well worth the money I paid for them. Wonderful Budget Buy for clean skin! |
