What to Expect at your Frist Micro Channeling Treatment

During a microchanneling session at Oasis Skin & Wellness Center INC, there are several steps and considerations you can expect. Here’s what typically happens during a microchanneling treatment:

  • 1) Consultation: Your microchanneling session may begin with a consultation with an Oasis Esthetician. We will have you complete a Screening sheet to discuss your skin concerns and goals, assess your skin type, and explain the procedure to you. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
  • 2) Cleansing: Your skin will be cleansed to remove any makeup, dirt, or oils. This step ensures that your skin is clean and ready for the procedure.
  • 3) Topical Anesthetic: To minimize discomfort, a topical numbing cream or gel may be applied to the treatment area. It typically takes about 10-15 minutes for the numbing agent to take effect.
  • 4) Microchanneling: Once your skin is sufficiently numb, the microchanneling procedure begins. A handheld device with fine, sterile needles is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. The depth of the needles may vary depending on your specific skin concerns and the area being treated. The Oasis Esthetician will move the device over your skin in a systematic manner using a stamping motion.
  • 5) Sensation: During the microchanneling process, you may feel a sensation on your skin, which can range from warm to itchy to mild tingling to a slightly more intense sensation. The numbing cream helps minimize discomfort, and many clients find the procedure easily tolerable.
  • 6) Redness and Swelling: After the treatment, your skin is likely to appear red and may be slightly swollen. This is a normal reaction to the micro-injuries created during microchanneling. The degree of redness and swelling varies from person to person and can last for a day or a few days.
  • 7) Post-Treatment Products: Depending on your Oasis Esthetician’’s recommendation, they may apply serums or skincare products that are designed to enhance the benefits of microchanneling. The microchannels created during the procedure allow for better product absorption.
  • 8) Aftercare Instructions: You will receive specific aftercare instructions, which may include avoiding sun exposure, using gentle skincare products, and refraining from vigorous exercise for a short period. It’s essential to follow these instructions to ensure the best results and minimize the risk of complications.
  • 9) Follow-Up: Your skincare professional may schedule a follow-up appointment to assess your skin’s progress and determine if additional sessions are needed to achieve your desired results.

Microchanneling is generally safe and effective when performed by a trained and licensed Oasis Esthetician. The extent of results and recovery time can vary, but many people notice improvements in skin texture, reduced wrinkles, and other benefits over time with a series of treatments. We recommend 3 to 12 treatments depending on the client’s age and desired results.  Always consult with an Oasis Esthetician to determine if microchanneling is suitable for your skin and your specific goals.
