![]() Which do you think of first in your skin care regimen each day?
But water is our most abundant bodily molecule making up about 60% of a person’s weight. It is also the driver that ensures that our waste removal system can do its job properly. But did you know that 80% of the H2O in your body is dedicated in some way to your skin? So if you are not getting enough water each day, it is safe to say that you will probably see the results of this lack in your skin. Your body is one of the most finely tuned machines in existence. But just like a motorcycle or car, if you do not put the proper fuel into the tank, you cannot expect to go as far as you’d like. In order for the body to make its necessary chemical and enzyme based reactions you have to have enough water. Each of those reactions also create byproducts that need to be removed from the body. Water plays a very important role here as well. Water makes sure your blood volume is correct, your lymph systems are flushing toxins properly, and ensures that your skin’s substructure is firm and resilient. In order to maximize your skin’s health and complexion you should try to drink at least six 8 oz glasses of water throughout the day. If you are in a situation where you are exercising or constantly perspiring you need to account for this and drink additional glasses. ![]() Make it a goal to try to drink 10 8 oz glasses of water per day just to ensure that your body has more than is needed. But you’ll need to work up to this goal if you normally do not drink more than 6 glasses a day. If that’s you, try to add one additional glass per day in order to give your body a chance to acclimate to the “new normal”. Note that anything other than pure water or unsweetened herbal tea does not count and in fact needs to be counted as an additional dehydrating factor. The best thing to do when you’re struggling to get your daily intake of water is to cut out other drinks and focus only on herbal tea or water. If you are able to build up to the required amount of water daily you will experience improved health along with improved skin. Once you get the base of the building set properly you can then add other skin care regimens far more effectively. |
