So a couple of weeks ago I did a review on SOLO One Step Gel Nail Polish and Fuse Gelnamel by Sensationail. I wanted to compare the two products. First let me say they are really great products and I like them both, however, one is better than the other. Price: SOLO One Step is $8.99 at the Carbondale IL Ulta and FUSE Gelnamel by Sensationail is $9.99 at the Carbondale,IL Walmart. So price wise they are super comparable and easily accessible to everyone. Quality: Ok so now we get to the nitty-gritty. Like most GEL Polishes these are thick and only take about two coats & two LED lamp cures to set. The colors come across vibrant and glossy as it should be with GEL Nail Polish. However, the biggest kicker is does it last the full 2 weeks? I have yet to find any DIY Gel Nail Polish that lasts for 2 full weeks. In fact, the best I have ever gotten is 1 week and not from either of these items, I digress. The Solo One Step out lasted the Fuse Gelnamel by about 2 full days. Disappointingly, the Fuse only lasted about 2 days before I got the first chip. I was hoping it was just a fluke on one nail, but each day longer a different name chipped. My best tip to get longer lasting wear from the Fuse product is to use Sensational Primer after buffing the shine from the nail. The Solo One Step product lasted 3 solid Days without chipping and only 1 single name really came off. However, by the 5th and 6th days my nails were unbearable and I had to remove the product. The removal process for both products are pretty basic, using cotton balls, aluminium foil and acetone I soaked the polish off of my nails. Application Process: The biggest difference in the application process is that the SOLO One Step, truly is only one step. Check out my application video to see full details. There is no base coat, top coat combo needed and you don't even need a residue remover. Whereas with the FUSE Gelnamel product you do need to wipe away a sticky finish. However, aside from that the application processes are the same. Overall: Overall, I like the SOLO One Step better than the Fuse Gelnamel, because it is slightly more affordable and it requires fewer steps in applications. I love it when any product can save me time & money. Furthermore, the SOLO One Step is actually a better quality products, it stayed on my nails for 3 full days without chipping. The Fuse product was chipping within 2 days.
