Get your Ticket 9/2/2015 Biore Deep Cleansing Strips VS Epielle Deep Cleansing Strips : Dupes Product ReviewRead NowI am taking it back to about 20 years ago, to my ALL Time favorite movie, “Clueless”. I recall the valley girls were wearing white stripes across their noses, but at the time my 10 year old self had no idea the value of the magic strips. By the time I was 13 or 14, I had set through my first Sex Ed class and become a victim of puberty and the movie made alot more sense. Do to raging (I mean growing) Hormones I had horrible acne which turned into whiteheads and blackheads...and the “occasional scar”. Then I remembered the white nose strips. The little white strips were my saving grace. Yes, for 14 year old the pain was awful, but it was so cool to look at all the gunk that came out of my skin. The outcome totally outweighed the pain. I recall my mother shirking at the cost of my Biore Strips then (at the time $15.00 for 6 strips) and I still shirk now, but there is NOTHING like them…..or is there? Let’s get down and dirty... I have recently started working out consistently and especially because I have acne prone skin I have to be extra careful to clean my skin after working out. When cleaning your face to stimulate blood flow it is best to wash your face gently with your hands, however, in cases when you need to de-grime your face after sweating profusely all over you need more than just a nice massaging pat on the face to knot off the stank. So I went on a hunt for a facial cleaning assistant. I found two! I will list the benefits and there is a nice How To video so you can see them in action. We are told everyday to take a multivitamin and for the most part we do it without question, right? However, there are plenty of times I have been told to take a Hair, Skin, and Nail vitamin and I don’t even though I have struggled with Acne, Thinning Hair and Nails. It is almost like I feel their is a level of vanity in taking “medicine” to look better - which I know, makes NO sense what-so-ever. I figured if I am going to take vitamins to keep my bones healthy and my joints working properly, then it is only logical and responsible to make sure my skin (which is my largest organ) is healthy too. Let’s just be honest, it is not like I am getting all the needed nutrition from eating healthy---Once I came to that conclusion I started doing my research. Here is what I learned. So we all know that collagen is important. Every single anti-aging serum or moisturizer on the market claims to replenish or boost collagen production. However, to really know whether or not that is even a remote possibility from your skincare product, you have to know a bit of science about your body and how it makes that magical thing called Collagen. What is Collagen? Collagen is protein in the body that hold your tissue in place. It is where the firmness of your skin comes from. It is the main building block for cells, tissues and organs. If you were to drain all the water from your skin, collagen would be about 70% of what would remain. Collagen, keratin and elastin give the skin its texture, elasticity and structure. We will take about Keratin & Elastin in later blogs. The body creatives the collagen that it needs very rapidly at first to keep up with the rate in which humans grow, but the production speed decreases as apart of growing older. If fact, women make less collagen than men and the collagen we do make, we lose at about a rate of 1% per year. Therefore ladies, naturally we are pre-exposed to lose almost half of the collagen from our skin by the age of 50. |
